Lightness over Darkness

Having to keep off my feet still, I took some pix sitting down today of my dolls and my jewellery. I was just AMAZED with this one. The black cross JUST happened to be sitting there from a previous photo and all I had to do editing wise to it was crop it and resize, other than that its not been messed with. I think a perfect pix of a perfect doll, I am soo Chuffed!

A bit more Bling...

Having badly broken a toe just a little over a week ago, I am still in much pain and my foot is numb!!! Since I am having to keep off my feet, I have been playing around making some jools for dolls. Most of this stuff pictured here will be on it's way out this week to a new owner... (Nothing seems to stay around here too long LOL)

Why I like Sybarites

It didn't occur to me until after a conversation last night with a friend who I have not talked to in a while that, that I realised what I liked about the Sybarites, by Superdoll in London.

I have collected, over the last 20 years one doll or another, with my love for fashion, I leaned to Gene Marshall and Tonner 10 years ago. Then about 7 years ago I started collecting Japanese Ball jointed dolls such as Volks and Korean dolls such as Custom House. I began to lose interest in them not because of the Sybarites, but because their style and design became samey

These companies now seem to churn out, one after the other the same old stuff, or they bring out similar items to other existing companies. In fact Companies like Dollheart are now re-doing outfits they released a few years ago, only in different fabrics, it's now become stale and boring.

2005 - The sybarties came along and over the last four years the dolls have been through several incarnations of body styles and additional sculpts. What I really love about them is that everytime a collection comes out from Charles and Des, that it wows me to no end. They are edgy and keep my interest up with their sense of style and glamour. This is why I probably like them so much, that, in the four years I have been collecting the dolls and outfits, I never tire of get bored of what is up for offer.

A real life living doll...

I watch a program the other night about the worlds smallest Primordial dwarf girl. Her name is Kenadie and she is a real living doll sized human! You can find our more about her here on her website http://littlekenadie.com/.
Latest news on her is that She had been cast in a Dutch film called “Iep!” or “Bird”: “a story based on a children’s book about a bird watcher who discovers a small girl with wings under a tree and nurses her back to health with his wife. Photo's by Gary Parker

Rule Britannia- God Save the Queen

It's been on my Amazon wish list for a while now, at highest priority, but no-one has picked it to buy for me- BOO HOO :-( I kept seeing the numbers available dwindling down, till it got to one copy left in stock, so I decided to treat myself to it. It arrived yesterday and I am DEF not disapointed. If you love the likes of Vivienne Westwood and John Galliano mixed with 18th Century design and fashion, then this book should be on your bookshelf. If you don't, then it should still be on your bookshelf anyway- Happy Reading!! Anglomania- Amazon.co.uk

Somebody PLEASE call the RSPCA!!!

I find it hard to believe that someone could love animals and still do this to their dog. Meet Cindy, the well overgroomed poodle who's owner takes pleasure in styling her in many different ways. One day she's a dragon, another day she's a camel. She's even been made up as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. I think it really must distress the poor animal, just look at her face!!! Shame on you pet owner. I really Hope the RSPCA steps in and does something.
